Hoe klinkt de Weerter Beiaard?
De Martinus kerk is ook uniek door de aanwezige beiaard, hoog in de torenlantaarn. De volledige computergestuurde beiaard telt in totaal 49 klokken met een gezamenlijk gewicht van ruim 20 ton. Naast een automatische carillon dat elk half uur net voor de tijdsslagen speelt is er ook, sinds 1992, een hand bespeeld carillon. De Weerter Beiaard is een volwaardig concertinstrument behoort tot de top van Europa. Frank Steijns is de stadsbeiaardier van Weert, maar ook van Maastricht en Heerlen en hij is tevens violist in het orkest van André Rieu.
Dit is een natuurgetrouwe replica van de torenlantaarn met het klokkenspel. Na muntinworp kan een keuze gemaakt worden uit verschillende melodieën.

What does the carillon of St Martinus sound like?
The Martinus Church is also unique because of the carillon (or chime) high up in the tower lantern. The fully computer-controlled carillon has a total of 49 bells with a combined weight of over 20 tonnes.
Besides an automatic carillon that plays every half hour just before the clock strikes, there is also, since 1992, a hand-played carillon. The Weerter Carillon is a full concert instrument ranking among the top in Europe. Frank Steijns is the city carillion player of Weert, as well as of Maastricht and Heerlen, and he is also a violinist in the famous André Rieu’s orchestra.
This is a faithful replica of the tower lantern with its chimes. After inserting a coin a choice of melodies can be made.
